Nitica Sakharwade

Nitica Sakharwade ( | she/her) is awkwardly honest and known for her ‘meta’-metaphors, embodying a physicist’s mind and a poet’s heart. A Maharashtrian, she moved to Waterloo to pursue a PhD in Quantum physics at the Perimeter Institute. One of the first KW Poetry Slam residents, she has performed at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, the Cherry Park Festival, and FLOW at THEMUSEUM. Nitica has taught poetry at Wilfrid Laurier University, and her poetry explores belonging, vulnerability, childhood, and identity. She aspires to one day be able to read her grandfather’s poetry.
