Zehra Nawab

Zehra Nawab is the recipient of the Best Graphic Designer and Best Local Artist titles at the Waterloo Region Record Awards, 2020. She is a multidisciplinary artist, working in journalism, illustration, theatre and film. She has most notably illustrated the political portraits for the 2018 Election Issue of The Herald magazine and the cover illustration for the book ‘Sita Under the Crescent Moon,’ published by Simon & Schuster. She is the writer and co-director of the documentary ‘Home Truths’, exhibited as part of the travelling ‘Making Heimet’ exhibit from the Venice Biennale. She has co- directed the documentary ‘Mad Mad Mad Mad Film World’ which is currently being showcased at the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver.
